  • De-listing

De-listing is removal of pages from a search engine's index temporarily or permanently as a result the web pages are de-indexed from a directory or search engine. There are several reasons behind this. If your hosting service provider is on shared IP your website will fail reverse DNS lookup and there are chances of your website being removed from search index. If a website is listed under Spam Black List then must change hosting provider to avoid de-listing. Search crawler crawls from link to link and so lack of links can be another reason for de-indexing. Other reasons are spoofing, cloaking, doorway pages or splash pages, dynamically on fly generated pages, content farm or buying links.
